Mr. Taka Ramen | Our Story

Tokyo flavors, rooted on Allen Street
Mr. Taka Ramen began as a dream between friends — a shared wish to bring the ramen culture of Tokyo to the Lower East Side. What grew from that idea is a small, unhurried spot where every bowl is still made from scratch, every day.

170 Allen Street
The goal was to find a home in New York City for ramen that takes real time and care. That conviction landed Mr. Taka Ramen on the Lower East Side.

Time as an ingredient
The broth simmers for over eight hours before the first bowl is served — a process that can't be shortcut. Thick-cut chashu is torch-finished, and every dumpling is handcrafted in-house.

One tradition, many bowls
Tonkotsu, shoyu, miso, tsukemen, and a plant-based bowl built on a light soy-milk broth — the menu covers real range without wandering from the craft that anchors it. Each style is its own thing, made with the same care.

Walk in, pull up a seat
No reservations, no fuss — just a small room with counter seats and tables, and bowls made to order from the moment you sit down. We're grateful for every guest who finds their way to Allen Street.
